ORANGE SHIRT DAY- SEPTEMBER 29

Our school will be acknowledging the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation during the school day on Thursday, September 29. We encourage all students and staff to wear an orange shirt to school on September 29!  There will be no school on Friday, September 30 as this is a day across Canada to promote the opportunity to deepen understanding of the reconciliation issues between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples.

The history of the orange shirt began back in 1973, when Phyllis Webstad entered St. Joseph Mission Residential School  and was told she could not wear the new orange shirt her grandmother gave her.
